Dr. Matthew Lopez

Audiologist

Dr. Lopez joined the practice in 2025 after spending a year with us as an Audiology Extern.

Dr. Lopez earned his bachelor’s degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology from Loyola University Maryland as well as his master’s degree and doctoral degree in Audiology from Gallaudet University. He has his certificate of clinical competence in Audiology (CCC-A) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. Before arriving at Potomac Audiology, Dr. Lopez earned his master’s degree in philosophy from Fordham University in the Bronx and spent the better part of a decade teaching ethics in high schools in DC and around the country. He is conversationally fluent and clinically competent in American Sign Language, having first studied at the Sign Language Center in New York in 2014 with Brian Blaise and Alan Roth.
